SmartEver, a Lightweight Evernote Client for the iPhone, Now Available Free-of-charge for a Limited Time Only

March 29, 2013

I recently released an application called IconMemo, which experienced a great number of sales in Japan.
Following from this, I have now decided to make SmartEver, another application that I am greatly proud of, available free-of-charge for 3 days from March 29th to March 31st.

SmartEver is a lightweight Evernote client for mobile devices. Rather than synchronizing all notes, it only synchronizes notes that have the “SmartEver” tag, so it is an extremely lightweight application. Also, one of its key features is that it allows you to edit notes while you are offline.
Please go ahead and try it out!

‘Evernote Trunk Conference Commemoration Sale’ held by SmartEver, a lightweight Evernote client

August 21, 2012

Thank you very much for encourage SmartEver at “Devcup” , a Evernote developer’s contest, the other day.

Unfortunately, we couldn’t advance to the finals or win Japan Prize which are given to the applicants from Japan.

My thoughts on this occasion are that I have faith in the usability of SmartEver so I thought there was a faint hope that it would go onto the finals. However, I think perhaps it doesn’t compare with other applications in terms of ideas and novelty.

If SmartEver had been picked as a finalist, or had received the Japan Prize, we would have been invited to the Evernote Trunk Conference to be held this weekend in San Francisco. I had thought that would be a good chance to promote SmartEver overseas, however my hopes have been shattered.

As a result, I have put SmartEver on sale, in an attempt to appeal to overseas Evernote users.

The sale period is from 8/18-8/26 and the price has been lowered from $2.99 to $0.99.

In Japan, many bloggers have written about SmartEver, and it is achieving some visibility. However, overseas SmartEver is still an unknown. I am hoping that this will allow users outside of Japan a chance to use it.

SmartEver is updated to Ver1.1.1 now and some modification for speeding up of launch speed from when Devcup application, modifying the order of notebook, and corresponding with the stuck correcting bugs.

SmartEver’s set price is currently $2.99, however after the sale has concluded some consideration is being given to lower the price to $1.99.
Thank you for your understanding.

About SmartEver

This app is an Evernote client for iPhone that works very lightly by only selecting notes with SmartEver tag as sychronize target. Unlike other apps where you can only post texts, with this app you can edit text as many times as you want!
Please refer to this page for more information on SmartEver features.

Lastly, we would like to informed that this app was picked up by the Japan Prize commision and received coverage on the Japanese version of the Evernote official blog, being praised as “an app with a high degree of completion and a very practical Evernote client”.

Launched SmartEver; A Lightweight Evernote Client for the iPhone.

July 15, 2012

I have just released a new app, SmartEver which is a lightweight Evernote client application that runs on iPhone!

There are so many posting applications for the iPhone, but a few choices that have the editing function.

Unfortunately, the Evernote official application is not easy to use due to take times for sync or heavy processing.

As I implemented WebClip feature of Evernote on the Duet Browser last year, and have knowledge of Evernote API, I decided to make it by myself.

I continued to work with it everyday after my children fell asleep for six months, and finally completed!

Once I started working, many ideas came to me in course of the development, so the latter half of my development was very complicated. But I think I could bring out a good one, keeping the simplicity and lightness.

Until the end of July, this is offered for sale at $1.99 on the special release sale. Get it at this opportunity!

Please refer to the support site for more details of this application.

This application is also entered in Evernote Devcup, an annual developer contest held by Evernote.

If you enjoy this application, please vote for me.

Month icon on your iPhone home screen

March 23, 2012

The standard calendar app for iPhone displays the current date, but does not display the month.

I made a web app which can put a month icon on your iPhone home screen.

How to quickly open Wi-Fi and Bluetooth settings with one tap on your iPhone (iOS 5 only)

November 10, 2011

There are so many items layered across the iPhone settings screen that it can be very difficult to find what you’re looking for.
In particular, there are many people who feel dissatisfied with how much trouble it is to change Wi-Fi and Bluetooth settings, where you are constantly required to return to the beginning screen.

However, there is a way to solve that problem!

(Unfortunately, only iOS 5 users can use this method. Don’t be misled.)

What you need is this application.

Touch Icon Creator
App
Requirements: Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. Requires iOS 3.1 or later
Category: Utilities
Updated: Mar 01, 2011 $0.99

Using this application, you can create icons out of your favorite images and place them on your home screen. Then they can be used to access phone numbers, SMS, and email as easily as opening your settings screen.

★Set-up

When you launch Touch Icon Creator, a registration screen will be displayed. First, you will choose a URL. Then, put the appropriate name in the name field, and put one of the example URLs in the URL field.

For Bluetooth

prefs:root=General&path=Bluetooth

For Wi-Fi

prefs:root=WIFI

Icon images can be set-up by tapping on your preferred image in the upper-left corner.
Once your image is chosen, tap the “Create” button. A confirmation screen will be displayed. If there are no problems with the contents, tap OK.
Once you do so, Safari will launch, and the below image will be displayed. Follow the directions in order to register the icon on your home page.

There, you’re finished!

When you tap your created icon, you’ll see the image below!

In short, you can access any settings page you want with just one tap from your home screen.
Doing this the normal way, it would take 2 taps for Wi-Fi and 3 taps for Bluetooth. As you can see, you’ve doubled your speed.

Please download and try Touch Icon Creator now!
(Touch Icon Creator is also compatible with iPad.)

Finally, here are some other settings from the setting screen.
If you know of any settings that aren’t listed here, please leave a comment.
